This association was set up as a ‘charitable’ institution in 1932. It has been vastly successful and endures today albeit in a different format. Agent Stan Keene was a visionary luminary of the era and elected it’s first Life Membership in 1934. During the post-WWII years the Scone Advocate regularly printed the names of Financial Members of the Association. It was ‘expected’ everyone would join. It was a name-and-shame strategy to ‘encourage the dilatory’ to front up!
