The Aberdeen Jockey Club ‘folded’ in January 1971 following severe flooding of the Hunter River across the race track on Jefferson Park. During my term as President of the Scone Race Club (1978 – 1984) we revived the ‘Aberdeen Jockey Club’ as a sub-committee of the Scone Race Club. It was a great success; largely thanks to the commitment of SRC Vice-President and Aberdeen Local (”Kelvinside”) Hilton Cope.
Frank Wilson was an expatriate Kiwi and a ‘colourful racing identity’!
