In the late 1800s and the first half of the 20th century there only two options available to Upper Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders to auction their yearlings and other bloodstock. There were some ‘on farm’ production, reduction and dispersal sales; notably those offered by Thomas Cook of ‘Turanville’. The firm of William Inglis & Son Ltd operated out of an inner city office at 28 O’Connell Street. The Newmarket Sale Paddock was located at Young Street, Randwick which was ‘home’ until 2017. The first sale at the new premises at Warwick Farm will take place early in 2018.
