Olly has senior international experience in the racing and breeding industry which is quite simply unparalleled. During his 15 years at Darley, Olly established the organisation in Australia, expanded it in Japan, developed it in the United States before relocating to the UK in 2010 when he was responsible for the Darley operations globally. Elected to the Breeders’ Cup Board of Directors, Members and Trustees in 2009, Olly was their Audit and Finance Chairman until 2013. From 2006-2008, Olly was President of the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association in Australia and a Director of Aushorse, the representative body of commercial thoroughbred breeders in Australia.

Aushorse Marketing is pleased to announce that Oliver Tait has joined its team as a consultant and will act as its new representative for Europe and North America. Tait has an unparalleled knowledge of the global bloodstock industry and Australia’s place within it, having previously been responsible for the management of Darley’s operations worldwide.
After starting in sales and marketing for Darley in Europe, Tait established the Darley brand in Australia in 2001, became Chief Operating Officer of Darley America in 2008 and then Group Chief Operating Officer in 2010. He also served as a director of Darley Japan. “I’m thrilled that Olly has agreed to join our team,” said Aushorse Marketing Chief Executive Tom Reilly. “He brings and immense knowledge and deep understanding of international breeding and racing and I have no doubt he’ll be an excellent point of contact for those in Europe and North America wanting to learn more about Australia. “I know he will also be able to provide our team in Australia with valuable insights on developments in Europe and America.” Tait said he was honoured to work on behalf of the Australian industry. He said: “The Australian thoroughbred industry has so much to offer and leads the world on many fronts. I am excited to be able to play a part in its promotion and I am looking forward to working with Aushorse, a respected and forward-thinking industry organisation”. Although Tait has spent many years overseas, he is still very much an Australian, and his family remain some of the most successful breeders in the country. Last year the Tait family were inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame for breeding and racing champions such as 13-time Group One winner Tie The Knot, Champion two-year-old Baguette, and top sprinter Spinning Hill. He will begin his consultancy on November 1. Also joining the Aushorse team is Jessica McKeown, formerly the Racing Manager for Triple Crown Syndications. McKeown will take on the role of
Communications Manager, effective immediately. Before working for Triple Crown McKeown had successful stints with BlueSky Bloodstock and Magic Millions. She also completed the British National Stud course where she received the top student award. “I’m sure Jessica will prove an invaluable member of the Aushorse team,” said Reilly. “She has an excellent understanding of the Australian bloodstock industry and a lot of experience with people entering racehorse ownership for the first time, which will really help us achieve our goal of expanding the industry domestically.” Aushorse is the marketing body of the Australian thoroughbred industry.
